Steak & Cajun Potato Wedges

A classic dish with a little cajun twist, steak and mixed wedges with a spicy sauce. Enjoy and get ready for the flavour!

Ingredients

  • 340g/12oz Rump Steak
  • 1 Small (100g/3.5oz) Potato
  • 1 Small (150g/5.3oz) Sweet Potato
  • 1tbsp Unsalted Butter

Herbs & Spices

  • 1.5 tsp Cajun Seasoning
  • 1.5 tsp Rosemary
  • 1.5 tsp Garlic Powder
  • Pinch Salt & Pepper
  • Zest 1 Lemon (Optional)
  • 1tsp Cajun (for sauce)
  • Chilli Flakes (for sauce)

Method

1) Preheat your oven to 200Cº/400Fº/Gas 6.

2) Slice your potatoes into even sized wedges, and spray with cooking spray. Cover with herbs and spices and mix (Remember to save about 1/3 for the steak) with hands till they are fully covered. Place in oven and cook for 30 mins. Give them a toss around 15 mins in.

* Wait until 20 minutes have passed until cooking steak.

3) Preheat your pan, spray in some cooking spray and season your steaks with some of the seasoning. Place your steak in the pan and cook to the following instructions, when half done, baste with the tbsp of unsalted butter.

4) Check your potatoes to make sure your don't overcook, and once your steak is cooked to desired doneness, Serve.

5) Finally in a bowl mix ketchup, light mayo, cajun seasoning, and chilli flakes, and serve with meal.
